Proportional Series 52"x80", four panels, not assembled
The first enlargement of the fingerprint was not large enough in proportion to the bar code so I then enlarged it one more step. However, enlarging the work on the computer to make each piece to be the maximum print area on my Epson C88, resulted in tiling the image, then laminating the pages with acrylic medium onto the panels. This technique required wetting the paper first and removing all bubbles while painting. I knew then that the computer and the acrylic lamination techniques were the media I would use for this project. The images began to be realized right away. I started to blow up each "tile" to become different designs like, Micro #1 and #2.
Then I began to use the Adobe Photoshop tools to dissect, enlarge and rearrange different parts of the fingerprint to make other designs independent from the original.
